Change......
"We want change!! We want change!!"
"We will not pay taxes"
"our system is corrupt"
and many more....
Something has changed after 26/11. Or is it only an illusion? Will things again get back to normal? Will we again put a hypocrite mask on our face and carry on with our lives?
So much noise has been made about changing the system. Sacking the politicians. Upgrading the infra of security forces.
I am not different from rest of the people. I also voiced my opinion about how inept our system is in preventing such large scale massacre. I am not going to write more about it.
But then we as citizens are cribbing about our rights, whereaswe have failed in our duties towards electing correct leaders. Leaders who can make a difference to the society. In a positive way. We have criticized the system but we have forgotten that the system is made up of us only. I am not going to write about the need of change in attitude of citizens towards their responsibilties towards the nation.
What I am going to write about is the change I will try to bring about in my own life. I can talk a great length about the ways in which we as a country can improve in leaps and bounds. But before thinking about changing the whole country, first it's time to test if I can change a single person. That's me.
So following are the things/rules/laws I will follow from now on for two weeks (need to start somewhere). I hope after two weeks these changes become a habit and not a neccessity:
1) No more orkutting in office (Have stopped it for past one week)
2) No more throwing away of waste on roads/streets/friend's pocket.
3) No matter how many security checkups I have to go through while entering airport/office premises/malls etc, I will follow the procedure with total respect.
4) Will not leave any switchboards/plugs/lights on when not required.
5)No more wastage of water.
6)Will pay all my bills in time.
7) Do atleast one good deed every day (Things which I dont do normally, but really I should)
I will regularly update my blog on the status of the resolutions. Wont say anything more now.
Let me know if there is anything else I can change.
________________________________________________________________________
Adding one more change
8) Will not pay bribe of any sort to get things done.
I have been faithful to the first six changes for the past 4 weeks. Not done anything about the 7th Change. I guess it's too abstract.
Cheers.
